  • The church through a committed, intentional ministry of hospitality that welcomes visitors who come into its midst, in which members can express and live out hospitality, can offer to all the warm welcome of God's transforming love and acceptance. The biblical, historical and current cultural context for the church is examined. This study shows that hospitality when placed in a ministry context for laity empowers them to be a welcoming church. It also gives a step by step methodology for creating an intentional ministry for hospitality with interventions in the areas of creating a catalyst group, lodging the ministry within a sessional committee, providing training and on-going pastoral support.
