  • This project evaluates a merger of local churches. Its hypothesis is that merging local churches is a viable alternative to closing them. To test this hypothesis, the author reviews related literature, conducts a parish survey, interviews four lay leaders and examines financial records, worship attendance and membership reports before and after the merger. The findings confirm the hypothesis. The project concludes that the merger of local churches leads to church growth, which in turn enriches the life of the congregation for mission and ministry.
