- Abstract
- This thesis hypothesizes that evangelistic competencies of selected seminary students can be improved through a carefully designed series of instruction and evaluation. Instructional objectives are stated as learning outcomes and defined in terms of specific behaviors that students are expected to demonstrate. The author attempts to identify various aspects of the evangelistic task from which specific component skills are extrapolated. Measurements are accomplished by the use of performance observation and by a pre-test and post-test in the form of a semantic differential taken by participants and two control groups. The researcher concludes that competency training enhances skill development and contributes toward positive attitude development by the participants toward evangelism.
