Abstrait

The author developed a training program which consisted of a training manual (13 lessons), service projects, problem-cases, and personal interviews in order to introduce people to service ministries, specifically as deacons. The research involved an overview of diakonos from the Old Testament, the classical Greek, the LXX, late Judaism and the New Testament. The author concluded that people can be trained to understand service ministries in a local church and their levels of maturity raised in anticipation of participation in such ministries.
