Abstrait

This project helped to install the spirit of the Beatitudes into the laity of a local African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) church. Participants of a regular Bible study joined in a curriculum of a ten-week study of the Beatitudes and the entire congregation received a sermon on 'Understanding the ethics of Jesus.' Positive results in terms of the willingness of some members to practice the ethics of the Beatitudes were evident before the entire Bible study had been completed. The conclusion drawn was that the Beatitudes can lead members into a more complete spirit of discipleship.
