  • This project's purpose is to help evangelical women in conservative Protestant communities of faith find their voice as women, a need supported by evangelical feminists. Traditional evangelical women exemplify how patriarchal paradigms prevent women from finding their voices. Pat Schneider's creative writing program was used in a spiritual growth workshop. The women participants described the difficulties of having a voice amidst both their church's patriarchal authority and their internal struggles with their role as women. As the workshop concluded the women reported experiencing some personal growth. This study challenges patriarchal evangelical churches to develop new models of learning for women.
