  • This research discloses that character is comprised of three parts: nature, temperament and personality. They make up four concentric circles, extending outward from nature, through temperament and personality to character. There is one human nature, namely the innate evil of human nature. Temperament, personality and character is each divided into two major categories: internal and external. Christian character is characterized by what Jesus Christ called the nine character attributes of the elected in Matthew 5:1-12 as internal factors, and the external factors are informed by what Paul described in Galatians 5:22-23 as the nine character types which is the fruit borne by the Holy Spirit.
