Abstract
  • This project was designed to produce a manual that would assist a church in providing a more fulfilling ministry experience for its volunteer workers. Since a satisfied volunteer remains in a given position longer than an unsatisisfied volunteer, specific methods for increasing personal fulfillment are applied. In Section I, volunteers discover their TEAM--Temperament, Experiences, Abilities, and Motivators. As the volunteer learns more about the person God has designed him to be, he can better understand the ministry God has designed him to do. In Section II, the supervisor learns how a volunteer's ministry can be enhanced when he receives CARE from his ministry supervisor--Clarified expectations, Agreed upon objectives, Reviewed progress, and being Equipped for growth. In the final section, the supervisor is instructed to encourage his volunteers to GROW--Get to know God, Relate wisely to others, be Open to personal change, and be Willing to profit from problems. Growth is stressed because the volunteer's effectiveness comes from the message of his life as well as the ministry of his gifts.
