Abstracto

A manual was developed for use in a twenty-hour seminar taught in a local church to enable a cross-section of lay people to do textual exegesis. Syntactical displays of several chapters in Isaiah 40-66 were included as the principle teaching aid in helping the seminar participants gain confidence in moving from the text of the English Bible to the final homiletical presentation. The conclusions drawn as to the strong success of the manual were based on outlines the participants completed during the seminar and evaluations of the manual done at the end of the seminar.
