  • This study of 62 churches finds that they have fared statistically better than the UCC on matters of membership, worship attendance, Sunday school attendance and stewardship. It finds that despite fears articulated by members, these congregations often experienced revitalization that reversed or slowed years of decline. It finds that, for the 59 pastors surveyed, their ministry as an out gay man or lesbian presents both unique joys and painful challenges.
