  • The research investigates the characteristics of holiness theology in the 17th century movement within the Dutch Reformation known as the Nadere Reformatie. It compares its findings with the Wesleyan movement of the 18th century in Great Britain, and finds points of convergence. The study results in a lexicon in which much-used terms and expressions in the period under investigation are identified and explained in the context of Nadere Reformatie holiness and Wesleyan holiness. The results of the study are intended for cathegetical instruction to increase understanding of Wesleyan holiness theology by those of Reformed backgrounds.
