  • Pastors of large churches (more than 500 members) generally agree that staff conflict is often the most difficult problem they face in ministry. This project describes a process for developing a written staff covenant with a large church staff based on the order and theological bases of Reformed (Christian) worship. The project examines the Trinitarian image of God as a theological model for good human (staff) relationships; relates Trinitarian theology to modern models of organizational management; and highlights the order of Lord's Day worship as a theological superstructure for meaningful church staff community. A process that develops a written staff covenant emerges from the initial theological study. A final section evaluates the project and suggests ways to improve such a process.
