  • Adult Sunday school: reclaiming a structure for the twenty-first century ministry
Abstrait
  • This project was designed to develop new structures of ministry for the traditional adult Sunday school in light of new insights and paradigms from the meta-church (small group) approach. A model for a new ministry role, the Sunday School Shepherd, was developed and implemented at First United Methodist Church of Silsbee, Texas. Appropriate training and encouragement were given. Participants in the Shepherd ministry found the training useful and were able to function in valuable ways within their class structures. The model will prove helpful to congregations wishing to broaden the ministry impact of traditional adult classes.
