The goal of this project is to offer a descriptive analysis of the grief situation of bereaved parents which will aid the identification of persons at high risk in the grief process. The methodology includes: a review of relevant literature; development of six hypotheses; development of a Bereavement Questionnaire; trial run of the questionnaire with Pearsonian product-moment coefficients of correlations; adaptation of the questionnaire; field distribution and return of 156 questionnaires; factor analysis of data; and evaluation of hypotheses and project. The analysis of the data confirms five of the six hypotheses. However, the data of bereaved parents' experience demonstrates a complexity that is not anticipated fully in the hypotheses. This complexity accounts for the lack of confirmation of the sixth hypothesis.
