  • This model of ministry, conducted at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio, explored the misunderstanding of hospitality where benevolence is seen as hospitality. Descriptive research methodology included a pre-test to assess current understanding of hospitality, cognitive interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Treatment included a sermon/workshop series re: biblical hospitality in postmodern culture. A post-test was administered which showed significant shift in the attitude of those who were in the core group. Study theorized that differentiating benevolence from hospitality positively affects evangelism/relationship; thus similar learning opportunities were recommended for all disciples.
