Abstract
  • Small group contemplative prayer sessions enhance parishioners' awareness of and desire for a deepening communion with God. A group of eight parishioners participated in contemplative prayer exercises for seven weeks, two hours a week, plus two half-day retreats at the beginning and the end. The participants found the discipline of regular contemplative prayer practices helpful in being present for God and experienced positive shifts in the quality and intimacy of their relationship with God, others and themselves.
