Abstract
  • The general project goal was to guide youth participants to a decision of sexual abstinence before marriage. Twelve to fifteen year old youth were invited to participate in eight two-hour sessions. Four of the eight sessions also included parents of the youth. Sessions were designed to explore the major concerns pertinent to sexual abstinence such as self-esteem, peer pressure, decision-making, parent relationships, values clarification, etc. Nineteen youth participated and results of the post-test indicated that eighteen of the nineteen youths intended to abstain from sexual intercourse until marriage.
