Abstract
  • This project develops an eight week course on non-crisis pastoral visitation for seminary students who serve as pastors. The participants use group study methods to explore their theology of visitation as it is reflected in their image of ministry and the church. They explore such aspects of the visitation environment as location, listening skills, awareness of agendas and time management. At the end of the course the participants construct and implement a program of pastoral visitation which is evaluated after four weeks. The study gives a greater understanding of pastoral visitation. As a result, more intentional visitation is conducted by students.
