  • The theological principle undergirding this study is that the church is the body of Christ. A multiple church staff is called to model what it means to be Christ's body by exibiting unity, equality, and interdependence. The challenge is that multiple staff relationships are problematic in many churches. This study maintains that a multiple staff can fulfill this calling by becoming a shared-responsibility team. Through an intentional and extended process, the pastor, as head of the staff, can create an environment in which all staff are included appropriately in such a team and can empower the personnel committee to support this staff team.
