Abstracto

The purpose of this project was to strengthen the conflict management skills of the deacons at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Georgia. The project led the deacons to discover their style for managing conflict, identified the types of conflict, examined the nature of church conflict, and presented various strategies which are effective for resolving church conflict. The theological rationale for conflict ministry included three biblical case studies of conflict, the ministry of the diaconate, and a theology and practice of conflict management. The conclusion reached in the project is that deacons can be trained to be more effective as conflict ministers within the church.
