  • This project is an application of the eighteenth century Methodist system of class meetings to a local church as a model for ministry involving lay persons in ministry to each other. It contains a study of the Wesleyan class meeting, a model for implementing this style of ministry today, and an analysis that concludes that it is applicable to the modern church. Trained 'class leaders' arise from among the membership of a church to direct class members' spiritual life and to 'watch over one another in love'.
