Abstract

This project is the author's effort to develop an after-school program for latchkey children at First United Methodist Church, Dublin, Texas. The project was designed for twenty sessions conducted over a ten-week period for thirty children from Dublin Elementary School. The project includes the training of the church program council to conduct the sessions, preliminary studies conducted for the entire church, the session outline, and evaluations from parents, leaders, and children. The project provides the experiences and reflections of the church in conducting ministry to latchkey children within this setting.
