Abstract
  • Pastors will be more effective in ministry to children if they have a more thorough understanding of developmental theory. The project tests and evaluates this hypothesis with a sample of six children (3 girls/3 boys) and their pastor. The project has the pastor meeting with the children in two sessions and using developmentally appropriate materials. Curriculum includes drawing, Bible story-telling, artistic interaction, use of published literature, and a personal interview with each child participant. Developmental awareness made a marked difference in ministerial effectiveness.
