  • The author's thesis is that if the communication links between sugar workers of the First and Third Worlds can be enhanced then these same workers will be able to better themselves in jobs and in living standards. The methods used were sociologically framed and praxis based. They were informed by qualitative research (grounded theory) and colored by the author's own poetic, intuitive learning. The results of the project were: the founding of an international solidarity commission with sugar workers at a conference involving 40 participants from over 20 countries; the uncovering of a ministry of defending the workers; and the articulation of a new way of ministering.
