- Abstract
- This thesis claims that Christian workers ministering among the urban poor and engaged in social justice and reconciliation can be renewed and grow in freedom through their work. It is based on principles of practical theology, using experiences of workers with Servants to Asia's Urban Poor, partnering with squatters in metro-Manila, Philippines. These experiences are brought into critical correlation with the Christian tradition and the context of the urban poor. It asserts that workers suffer various wounds, but as they journey toward healing and reconnection, they also become both personally renewed, and more effective partners with the poor in social transformation.
