This project studies the biblical and pastoral care basis of four key words: listen, lament, laugh and love. These words describe the dynamics which occur in pastoral care visits with older people. The project states a brief definition of each word as a pastoral care concept. It conducts a biblical word study and, through a questionnaire, asks peers in ministry (chaplains, visitation pastors, students) to critique the validity of the proposed approach. This study blends the four concepts into a helpful pastoral care structure.
