This project will span twelve weeks and train vocational and lay leadership to utilize servant leadership principles to accomplish the mission of the church. A leadership group will be enlisted and is to be comprised of fifteen persons: the five-member vocational staff of Morningview Baptist Church and two key lay leaders enlisted by each staff member from his/her field of ministry. The group will focus on the life and mission of Jesus in the gospels in order to determine the mission of the church. Careful study will then be given to the role of leadership in accomplishing that mission with the model of servant-leader given primary emphasis. The project will begin with an overview and pretest before focusing on Jesus' mission through his life and teaching. Assignments will be given from the scripture as well as supplemental sources. Servant-leadership will be established as the preferred model with each participant writing his/her own personal theology of leadership.
