Abstrait

The purpose of this project thesis was to design and offer a program enhancing spiritual growth expressly for men in the context of the local Protestant Christian congregation. For ten consecutive weeks, twelve participants from area churches met for two hours in a group facilitated by the author, in a format that included meditation and silent prayer, reading of Scripture, discussions of assigned readings and participation in various rituals. Topics included boyhood stories, male mentors and friendships, faith and the soul, rage, anger and sadness, healing and celebration. Participants evaluated the program very favorably; various constructive recommendations for modifying the program were offered.
