- Abstract
- This project presents the basic steps for planning a hospice program in a small community. The first step is to interview personnel in the health field and persons in related fields such as funeral directors, cemetery sextons and even those who sell grave markers. It is important to obtain input of persons who work with the terminally ill. The second step is to gather all interviewed persons for a planning meeting. Their support will help to establish the program. The third step is to establish a committee to express the concerns and commitment of the larger group. This committee becomes the working force which will in time establish a hospice.
