Abstract
  • Revolutionary Latin American liberation theology is analyzed through the method of archiving. Its historical and theological roots, sociological aspects, and theoretical framework are examined. This theology is compared to other forms of liberation theology. Its biblical themes, relationship to Marxism, and use of the hermeneutical circle are analyzed. The positive elements, criticisms, responses to its critics, and the current status of this type of theology are reviewed. The project includes an evangelical response to revolutionary liberationism. Revolutionary theology is found faulty in exegesis, hermeneutics, theology, and methodology.
