  • The theological principle undergirding this study is that the church is called to be a community of faith. The challenge facing this congregation was to forge a new common identity in the midst of population and community changes. This study examines the use of vision as a tool for creating common identity. The study used an intentional communal process to create a shared vision for the future ministry of the church. Through this process members were able to identify common concerns and values, and forge relationships and commitment, a first step in creating a common identity.
