  • The Greenville Police Department recently recognized the need for a training program to prepare chaplains for on-call service. This project developed the first part of a Chaplain's Academy that focuses on the 'Foundations of Law Enforcement Chaplaincy.' The project focus and scope were to plan, develop and lead the first four curriculum sessions of the Chaplain's Academy - Foundations of Law Enforcement Chaplaincy - and include the following elements: 1) The Law Enforcement Family, 2) Legal Liability/Confidentiality/Privileged Information, 3) Sensitivity and Diversity, 4) Ethics. The outcome of the project was to equip new chaplains with a basic understanding of law enforcement chaplaincy.
