  • The purpose of this project was to develop and implement a plan for reassimilating inactive members of First United Methodist Church (LaPlace, La) back into the life of the church. Recognizing the mutual ministry of laity and clergy, a core group called the pastor's advisory committee (PAC) was formed to study, develop, and implement such a plan. The aim of this project was threefold: to identify the problem of inactivity within the membership; to develop biblical/theological thought on inactivity; and to employ a pilot program to start the reassimilation process. Although this project did not offer a total solution, it did lead some members to catch a vision of their own individual ministry.
