The purpose was to develop and field test a practical theology of help. The basis of the theology of help is 2 Thessalonians 3:8-10. If a person does not work, the person should not eat. This theory was applied to eight homeless street people. They were given an opportunity to work and be paid on a weekly basis. They were required to show proof that they were using their earnings to provide for their own personal needs. The project resulted in each of the participants becoming responsible, productive citizens in our society. The project also gives a blueprint to any small organization wanting to enable street people.
