  • The purpose of this study is to gain an in-depth understanding of combat veterans who have been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) while deployed in either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom conflicts and the effect of support programs of the faith community while they are attempting to resume and cope with their relationships and primary caregiver roles upon deployment back home. It appears from this study that there are faith-specific support programs to be taken into consideration when exploring the concerns of combat veterans diagnosed with PTSD. A positive outcome that each of the participants in the study relayed was their determination to get better, especially when they discussed their support systems.
