Abstract
  • The 'wilderness wanderings' as a theological description of ancient Israel's growth from adolescence to young adult faith development provides a positive metaphor for interpreting and guiding the faith development journey of college-age young adults today. The project provides analysis of a college context and observations on faith development in approximately 150 students. Exploration of four themes integrates faith development literature, Old Testament theology, exegesis of selected, illustrative biblical texts, and campus data from structured settings and class assignments. The project concludes that structure and heritage of liberal arts, church-related colleges provide students a comprehensive education, integrating cognitive, physical and faith developments.
