  • This project tested the author's conviction that a Lutheran understanding of Christian vocation can assist young adults to make meaningful connections between the content of Christian faith and their life experience. The action in ministry was an eleven-week course called 'The Lord's Prayer As Vocation.' Eight young adult members of Trinity Old Lutheran Church (Eggertsville, NY), four men and four women, participated. Data analysis revealed that a hermeneutical approach to Christian religious education is an effective young adult education methodology and that a Lutheran understanding of Christian vocation can assist young adults to make meaningful connections between the Christian faith and their life experience.
