  • Too often black theology remains in the academic community while black Christians are oppressed without theological resources that take their desperate need of liberation earnestly. This field project sought to rectify this situation within a very limited population by studying the reality of oppression from a black theological perspective with the congregation served by the author. Introduction of black theology to a black congregation helped determine the impact of these concepts on black Christians and develop information that could be used to structure future lectures on black theology for black congregations. It also bridged the gap that exists between those few intellectual settings where black liberation theology is taught and the local black congregation.
