  • Awareness of biblical/historical experiences of Sabbath, and an understanding of Sabbath practices, can provide unrealized possibilities for the journey of spiritual formation within a family. This project focuses on families in a particular congregation, and upon the noticeable impact of intentional Sabbath practices within their homes. The Participatory Action Research model of qualitative research is utilized in the development of this project. After surveying his context, the author facilitated a series of presentations on Sabbath. Following an extended period of time for participants to engage Sabbath practices, further data is collected. The before and after data are contrasted. The relational benefits of practicing Sabbath are detailed, and implications are made for the church at large.
