- This thesis is to provide information and understanding concerning the cultural and psychological background of marriage and family problems among Korean immigrants in the United States for the therapist or pastor who works with Korean marriages and family problems. For the therapist or pastor to work effectively with Korean marriages and family problems in the United States, understanding of both Korean and American lifestyles and personalities are essential. In this thesis, a leader will find information concerning the historical background of Korean immigrants in the United States, as well as cultural and psychological analysis of marriage and family problems that immigrants face in a multi-cultural American society.
