  • This thesis aims to demonstrate that the roots of the communication problem are theological in nature; therefore the solution must also be theologically grounded. Understanding that God values words, and that men and women equally image God can encourage mutuality in dialogue and marriage alike. The church is uniquely positioned to aid husbands and wives in improving their communication, because it has long known what social scientists are now 'discovering' -- it is not enough to give skill training; intent must also be addressed.
