This project concerns itself primarily with the development of a biblical perspective on the vacation Bible school as a viable part of the total Sunday school program within the military chaplaincy. It seeks to answer the questions: what is the purpose of an educational program for children? what is the theological foundation undergirding that purpose or purposes? and, what are the purposes, goals, and objectives for a vacation Bible school in general, and specifically as an integral part of the military chapel ministry? The project reaches the conclusion that there is a relationship between vacation Bible school and the Sunday school program, and that it should indeed be an integral part of the military chapel ministry.
