- Abstract
- One of the most pressing issues facing the rapidly emerging church in the Arabian Peninsula (AP) area is how to overcome barriers to spiritual development of believers from Muslim backgrounds (BMBs) that hinder them from gathering in discipleship groups. The author used qualitative research through survey and individual interviews to identify internal and external barriers, which inhibit the discipleship of the BMBs and their growth in the Christian faith. He then recommended culturally relevant remedies. The author documented how the findings were used to develop a pilot project employing contextually sustainable solutions to address barriers, and highlighted potential benefits and behavioral changes resulting from new approaches.
