Abstracto

It is the contention of the author of Introducing Scripture that the average layperson knows little or nothing about the message of the Bible. To remedy the situation, this thesis offers several tools. Part 1 is a rationale to suggest the wisdom of reading an introduction to each scripture selection before it is read at a worship service. Part 2 is a layman's guide to understanding the Bible, designed to be used in the church pew or at home. Part 3 is a series of introductions for each of the Old Testament lessons appointed for Series A, B and C.
