Abstract
  • This project proposes and designs a dispute resolution system for the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, using principles of pastoral supervision and faith-based conflict resolution. The system includes a comprehensive training program and subsequent ministry of pastoral supervision, and is tested with a pilot group of conflict resolution consultants. The research demonstrates the effectiveness of the system in assisting churches and church staffs in resolving conflicts. Pastoral supervision strengthens the consultants' skills and deepens their awareness of God's activity in resolving conflicts.
