  • Within United Methodism a historic relationship between institutions and congregations weakened following the denomination's severing of legal ties to institutions in the aftermath of the Pacific Homes crisis. Erosion of financial support, diminished volunteer involvement, and difficulty connecting to a new generation of United Methodists has marked the relationship with the church. Surveying hundreds of CEOs, board members, pastors, and church members, this project also employed focus groups and sample events to develop and test new techniques to reconnect with a new generation of United Methodists.
