- The study seeks to develop guidelines for a curriculum model in which the Character Training Programme in the Royal Australian Navy can be amended as may be appropriate to the Navy's current and projected needs. Since the programme is exclusively conducted by chaplains, an appropriate role for chaplaincy ministry within this curriculum model is defined. The study examines the implications for the military environment of changing values and trends in the civilian community. Important to the study is the hypothesis that the secular rationale in most character training curricula together with a secular theory of morality and personal adjustment is consistent with biblical principles.
