  • This study involved a small group spiritual formation in the Ligonier United Methodists Church in Ligonier, Indiana, to facilitate lasting change through growth in corporate spirituality or soul. A small group participated in a retreat where they learned spiritual practices, accountability, and support. Measurements included journal entries, surveys, and observations. When compared to a control group, those who participated scored significantly higher in all areas of spiritual growth (both individually and corporately). Summary conclusions indicate teaching spiritual practices to small groups in a church facilitate lasting change through corporate spiritual growth.
