- The project objective was to educate Type II diabetic African-American seniors, age sixty and older, about the disease and increase their spiritual awareness of positive health practices in order to enhance their own quality of life. The methodology used was the Proactive Research Method which pro-actively worked toward a transformation of their behavior as noted thorugh qualitative data. It was found that by utilizing several techniques addressed in this project their quality of life was improved as a result of 'spiritual' education and positive 'spiritual' practices. Therefore, the elderly can enhance their own lives and the lives of others.
