Abstract
  • The purpose of the practicum was to determine to what extent an adult religious education class can facilitate the acquisition and growth of faith with a corresponding transformation of perspective and life style. The student designed a thirteen week curriculum which consisted of lecture, discussions, and journal keeping. A pre-test and two post-tests were given to assess changes in belief, values, and behaviors. These evaluative tests indicate that changes which were positively correlated with class objectives were most strongly and reliably catalyzed by the method of journal keeping. Other formats had negative or ambivalent effects.
